Welcome to Pastoral Ministry

I've officially begun my ministry as pastor and I can't help but think to myself that it's an interesting time to start. The ELCA Church Wide Assembly recently voted to make some changes to the rostering policies for the church and this has raised some challenging and difficult issues for many people. The part that makes it interesting is the way that we have all been called to consider what these things mean for the church. How often do we have an event that brings us together to debate the finer points of theology, scripture, and life together? It's my sincere hope that we will come through these conversations as a stronger and more committed church having learned to embrace our differences as the gift that they are while standing together as those unified by the saving act of the cross. May it be so!
